Founded by Rita Mulcahy with a straightforward but impactful goal: to assist people in passing the PMP® Exam. Recognized worldwide, Rita was an expert in project management methodologies, advanced concepts, and risk management certifications. Over her distinguished career, she played a significant role in projects totaling more than $2.5 billion.
1991
RMC Project Management was born
Rita recognized the necessity for further education to advance her career, believing others shared this need. The certification process was demanding, and without proper direction, many would not succeed. To address this, Rita authored a PMP Exam Prep Study guide for aspiring Certified Project Managers, which garnered both national and international praise, setting a new benchmark in the industry.
Each year, Rita addressed thousands of executives and project managers, earning a reputation for making the learning process both enjoyable and effective.
2005 - 2010
Writing an additional five best-selling books, one of which was published by Fortune 100 company Cisco Press, Rita also taught classes and delivered keynote speeches around the world. She dedicated a significant amount of time to the growth of RMC, witnessing its training and product distribution reach nearly 50 regions globally. Rita was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Her influence on the industry is still felt today.
2015
RMC continues to grow in influence, including significant collaborations with ICON Technology Consulting, a training and coaching company based in St. Louis that focuses on Agile methodologies. RMC also began a collaboration with Mike Griffiths, world-renowned Agile expert and speaker to publish the PMI-ACP Exam Prep book. This collaboration enabled RMC to offer Agile-based coaching and consulting services to the public and its institutional clients.
2024
Peterson’s LLC a long-standing leader in test preparation and educational publishing successfully completed the acquisition of RMC Learning Solutions. This strategic decision marks a significant milestone in Peterson’s growth plan, highlighting its dedication to innovation and expanding its presence in credentialing markets.
