Shervelle Thomas is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with 20+ years of project and program leadership. Her experience spans the small business sector, corporate sector, transportation sector, educational sector and healthcare sector. Her keys to success are taking ownership coupled with curiosity, critical thinking and ultimately understanding that success sits squarely on the shoulders of the Project Manager leading and creatively corralling the project team toward goal completion. Her education includes an Associate of Science (AS) in Computer Science, a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) in Industrial “Engineering” Technology and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Shervelle has served as both on on-ground and on-line Adjunct Faculty member teaching undergraduate business courses. She shares her love of learning through prior service on the DeVry University Advisory Board and currently as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Association of Independent Holiness Churches (AIHC) School of Biblical Studies.
Over her PM career, Shervelle has led many successful implementations ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, resource engagement, and seamless transitions for optimal outcomes. She has honed her skills in scope management, project planning, cost control, quality assurance, risk management, and communication strategies, ensuring seamless delivery even amidst shifting priorities and tight deadlines. Through meticulous project management, she ensured that all initiatives were executed in alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives, optimizing resources and delivering results that exceeded expectations and significantly impacted the organization’s service delivery and client satisfaction.
She has fine-tuned her ability to manage complex project dynamics, vendor demos, and vendor selection while maintaining robust stakeholder relationships to foster project success. In her current work at Optum, she consistently demonstrates a knack for problem-solving, process improvement while thriving in complex facilitation, fast-paced environments and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
